Before Any Part Is Replaced
A heat pump diagnostic is an air conditioner diagnostic plus the components that make it reversible. Skipping the second half is how a system gets signed off in September and fails in January.
Forcing the system through both modes and verifying the valve actually shifts, with solenoid coil testing and temperature readings across the valve body. A valve that is slow now is a valve that sticks later.
